This weekend's training was such a joy. It was so nice to meet the fellow students and teachers and begin this journey of wellness together. I am grateful for each of you.
I was riding my moped home from work tonight, amazed by the sense of peace still present from the weekend, also enjoying the cool air on my skin after the rain had subsided. I looked to the sky to see the most tranquil moon, split in half, beaming white, covered by a translucent grey veill of clouds. I stopped at the stop sign and just breathed in the fresh, summer rain kissed air. I was reflecting on a comment a coworker made at work tonight about his non- belief in anything greater than himself. He said he believed that there is only 'you'. I didnt prompt this comment or respond to it, I merely reflected later as I gazed at the beauty of the night in awe. I thought to myself, 'how can you not see god in that?', 'how is my moon different from all the world's moon?', and other questions of that nature. I sat at the stop sign for a few minutes just breathing. I then drove to the next stop sign and looked up on last time before I was sure the view would fall behind the trees, and a shooting star blazed across the sky. I like to think of it as a wink from the universe, saying Im on the right track. Shanti Shanti Shanti - jana
I did a wonderful Yin class this morning and I was amazed at how much I picked up and remembered from training and applied to my practice. And......it is amazing if you just breathe, how far your breath really takes you. I am grateful today!!!!
Great comments - I am also very glad we are this group! It seems that we are more than just "disciples" following the path ahead. It has been a great feeling since this past weekend! Thanks to all! Joyce
What a weekend ... I have been on a high ever since:) I am truly joyful that I have this opportunity and can't wait until our next session. I must say that yesterday, I felt a shift - there was something different about me - more engaged, clear minded, inspired. Thank you Vicki, Jeannie, and to all my beautiful class mates. Have a wonderful week:) Nancy
How incredible it is to begin this journey, surrounded and supported by such beautiful, strong women!
While reading the Bhagavad Gita this week I came across a great passage about finding ones svadharma (one's calling).
Satchidananda says "Find out what your svadharma is. Ask yourself, "How do I feel when doing certain things? Is it natural for me?” Take stock of your natural inclination and your capability which is your taste, temperament and capacity. With some things it's so natural. You're like a fish in the water. You just know: "Ahh, that's what I'm meant to do."
It’s funny how things/people start coming into our lives when we begin to honestly seek answers. Now, it seems everything I read relates to “svadharma.”
We will not only be physically transformed in the next 8 months, but emotionally and spiritually as well. At times it may be difficult, but I know it will be worth it!
The spiritual path wrecks the body and afterwards restores it to health. It destroys the house to unearth the treasure, and with that treasure, builds it better than before. -Rumi
